Markham tells Anna that her letters are a constant pleasure for him. The lithograph people will have to wait till he comes home for a decision on the "Hoe". He meet Richard Tully and he was grateful for the few words Markham printed about "Omar" photoplay. Wants to offer it to the Hearst film company. Tully is writng Mr. Hearst about the matter. The Letter is unsigned and unfinshed.

California poet. Raised near Vacaville, became a schoolteacher in Coloma and later in Oakland. Became famous overnight with publication of "The Man with a Hoe," his protest against brutalization of labor, in "San Francisco Examiner" (January 15, 1899). Following this success Markham moved to New York where he scored another triumph with "Lincoln and Other Poems" (1901).
